Walked to Campus, Had a Tap Class, and Watched Movies (of course...)

Didn't sleep too well during the middle of the night so slept in till just around 9:00. Naomi and Erin had already left so it was just Maki and I, doing some computer. After breakfast and writing some e-mails, Naomi came home for lunch. Made ham sandwiches all around and while eating, Maki and I watched an episode of Star Trek: Next Generation since Maki was taping for Takuma (couldn't watch other channels). Anyway, interesting episode called The Game. Very freaky and kinda corny, too. :P

Right after finishing the episode, Maki and I decided to try walking to campus. First walked to the lower campus which was about a 25 minute walk then after walking up to the upper campus, walked back home in a little more than 20 minutes. Altogether, a very pleasant walk and we both enjoyed it. I think I just might like walking to school, though riding a bicycle is also an option.

Got home and both of us were pretty hot from the walk so we decided to watch a movie in our room where our nice air conditioner was one, keeping the room nice and cold. ^_^ We watched a Disney movie called Watcher in the Woods which I had borrowed from Blockbusters last night. It stars a VERY old Bette Davis, Caroll Baker, Lynn-Holly Johnson, and even David McCallum! Very creepy story; part horror, part supernatural. I thought that compared to nowadays horror, the 'scary' parts were extremely well-done with good photography and effects. However, it's too bad that the ending is a little weak. Otherwise, I bet this would have been a popular movie; it was a bit of a dud back then, though a cult classic now.

After the movie, I went to watch my daily dose of Law & Order. A depressing episode though; the murderer gets away! Gah, the legal system... sometimes it protects the innocent, sometimes it protects even the criminals. OH! I forgot to mention yesterday! One of the episodes of Law & Order I watched yesterday had special guest star.... David McCallum! Interesting coincidence, considering how much I like him as Illya Kuryakin in The Man from UNCLE, huh? (of course, David McCallum wasn't that young in the L&O episode, but I like this picture on the right. ^_^)

Naomi took me for my tap class at 5:30. The Intermediate class actually starts from 5:15 but I was told to come a bit late so that I can stay after for the whole Advanced class. Today's class was much more fun than last week's; got to actually do a lot more combinations. Also, since I got to stay for the whole Advanced class, we did a very long combination which was lots of fun. It's a good thing that I have a good memory because they were doing combinations from last week which the teacher, Caryn, hadn't specifically told us to memorize or anything. ^_^ Whew! A cool thing the teacher did was teach a specific rhythm, giving each a title from the letter from the alphabet. For example, she says 'A', and we do the combination for 'A', then she says 'C', and so on and so forth. It's pretty difficult especially when you have to do it fast.

Got home and after a nice dinner, we had our weekly prayer meeting. After having a bit of a quiet time between ourselves, we watched a movie altogether to relax and have fun.

Tomorrow we've got a fun day planned for a day at the North Shore. Please be praying that we have a safe trip since I'll be driving. ^_^ In closing, since I've been watching some of David McCallum on tv and in movies, here are some of my favorite quotes from The Man from UNCLE show (if you don't know, David McCallum's character is Illya Kuraykin, Robert Vaughn's character is Napoleon Solo):

Illya Kuryakin: It's a handicap isn't it? Being so obviously American?

Napoleon Solo: Illya, we have a situation here that needs your special talents. Are you free?
Illya Kuryakin: No man is free who works for a living. But, I'm available.

Illya Kuryakin: (Speaking of the badguy he pushed off the balcony) You had another visitor drop in. He dropped out, I have to go see to him.

Illya Kuryakin: Well, we could make one of our daring, resourceful and nauseatingly punctual escapes. If only the door weren't locked.

Napoleon Solo: How's your headache?
Illya Kuryakin: Nicely throbbing thank you.

:D Those quotes are nice. And, yes, the plot of the episode "The Game" is rather strange...
