Lots of Fun and Exciting Things Happened Today!

Today woke up just before 8:00 because I had drum class from 9:00. Got ready in time and Erin dropped me off at the church where there were two other girls who were also going to take the class. One girl was Japanese who's in the Trans-Pacific exchange program. Her name is Shouko and is from Fukuoka. She seemed happy that I'm also Japanese so we were able to talk quite a bit. The other girl was Charisse and was maybe in her mid-teens.

Joe came along right on time and we began to just play. We took turns and Joe asked us to do different beats and as the time went by, showed us new beats and different styles of beats. I was the most experienced since Charisse had only been half a year ago and today was Shouko's first time. Shouko is quite a bit of a natural though and got the 'rock' style of playing very well. It was really cool because towards the end we each had to creat our own beat, mine he dubbed The Priscilla Beat. ^_^ Very funky beat. Joe lent me some sticks to practice at home with so I can drive the other girls crazy. lol!

Got home just after eleven o'clock and since my parents are telling us to hurry up and send Remington Steele, we watched the last two episodes. And seriously, these two are probably my favorite episodes from the first season. One episode is kind of like the movie The Sting; I mean, the episode was even called Sting of Steele (all Remington Steele episodes include the word 'Steele' somewhere). The last episode had lots of Murphy so I was very happy, though sad to know that he won't be appearing in the show any longer. :'(

Had lunch of my 'special' cheese omelette and bacon. Mmmm... Oh, yes! I got my first issue of Entertainment Weekly, my favorite entertainment magazine. I loved the issue because it has the full Fall Preview of 145 movies... quite a lot of reading to do! So far, interesting movies are Flight Plan, Serenity, Red-Eye, Walk the Line, and a few others. I love the cover with Reese Witherspoon and I enjoyed her interview. Viggo Mortensen also was interviewed; still haven't read it yet though.

After doing some reading from the magazine, Maki, Erin, and I washed the car. Phew, is THAT a dirty car! You won't believe how much that car seems to attract birds to fly around and... do... their stuff. :S

Watched a new episode of Monk called 'Mr. Monk and Mrs. Monk'. It was SUCH a good episode! Seriously, one of the best written and best acted episode I've seen so far. Even if Tony Shalhoub doesn't do a good job in all the other episodes of this season, he still would deserve a Best Actor award for just this episode. It's THAT good. One of my favorite lines is when Monk says to a woman whose husband is dead: "This is an excellent cemetery; they know what they're doing. They're all dead."

OH! And there's a hilarious scene between the Captain and Randy when Randy asks the Captain who would he save from drowning, Randy or Monk. ^_^ lol!

After watching the episode, I spent some time on the computer studying some movies after reading my new magazine. At around 5:00, we all went to pick Aunt Jean up and we went to the Opitzs' house for a barbecue dinner. They live near the University of Hawaii and have a beautiful view of Diamond Head from their veranda. (sorry, no picture though Maki probably has one on her blog). I got to spend quite a bit of time talking to Michelle, the one who I mentioned lives in Hollywood. Actually, she says it isn't as glamorous as it may seem. :P

While eating dinner, we were flipping through channels on the tv and started watching Jurassic Park III. It was funny because Erin nearly jumped away at this one 'jump' scene. :P We left before the move finished because we had to leave.

Got home actually just a bit after 9:00 so watched the Monk episodes again because Naomi hadn't seen it yet. ^_^ I love that episode! Well, need to get up early for tomorrow's service; we're thinking of going to a different church tomorrow!

For closing, a scene I liked from the movie Tron (Flynn is Jeff Bridges)

[Flynn is flying a Recognizer]
Kevin Flynn: Pretty good driving, huh?
[Crash!]
Bit: No!
Kevin Flynn: Who asked you?
