Lazy Day Spent Mostly at Home

The curtains in my room has worked to a certain degree; didn't wake up till after 8:00! Hurray! It's still a little bright, but we're going to try it out for a couple more days to see how it goes.

Erin had internship ship from 9:00 today so Naomi took her downtown. Naomi came home but soon went out with some friends to go hiking so it was just Maki and me at home. First of all, I got out my glow pens and we started drawing on some paper. We're planning to tape them up to the ceiling later on before going to bed but here's a picture of our finished 'masterpieces'. :P

After we were finished, Maki was taping and watching some Star Trek: Next Generation tv shows while I stayed in our room just listening to music, writing some stuff. During a lunch of leftover curry, Maki and I were just flipping channels and we decided on MacGyver, an 80's tv series about a secret agent who refuses to carry a gun but instead relies on his intelligence and use of mundane, everyday items to create unorthodox solutions to problems. (I took a bit of the official summary of the show to write my own). :P Anyway, interesting series though it was one of the later episodes so not as good as I had expected it to be (I heard the earliest episodes were the very best).

The rest of the afternoon was spent doing various things. Naomi came home right after lunch but left again soon afterwards to go babysit Malia and Bella. I still had a sore throat and cold so decided to stay at home. Chatted with my mother for a bit then called Maria on chat so we could work on the upcoming sign dance project for the KCIS kids. Worked on I Can't Help Falling in Love With You and We Can Make a Difference. The boys are probably relieved to hear that most of their parts are hardly changed. :P Elly, Saki, and Rie will be having to handle most all of the changes necessary. I have great faith in you girls, though! The very best of luck!

Watched a few episodes of Law & Order before, during, and after dinner. :P Very thought provoking episodes; I especially enjoyed this one episode which had a guest star who had appeared on Monk as Sharona's ex-husband. ^_^ Interesting coincidence! Naomi had come home just before dinner and we all had curry over toast (curry again, I know, but I LOVE it!).

Naomi picked Erin up and when she got home, Maki, Erin, and I watched a little bit more of Pride and Prejudice while Erin ate. In the middle of watching, Naomi and I went out a bit to Barnes & Noble because Naomi needed to research some computer stuff for her work. I went over to the Crime Fiction section and saw that they had a Law & Order novel called Dead Line! I bought it and may start reading a bit tonight.

Well, I'm home now and I've actually finished writing my blog by around 10:00! Will probably read a bit like I had thought about then might get together with Maki to put up our 'glow' drawings. ^_^

To end today's entry, in honor of it being Sean Penn's birthday today (^_^), here a few of my favorite Sean Penn quotes from The Interpreter (Sean Penn's character is Tobin Keller):

Tobin Keller: How do you feel about Zuwanie?
Silvia Broome: I don't care for him.
Tobin Keller: Wouldn't mind if he were dead?
Silvia Broome: I wouldn't mind if he were gone.
Tobin Keller: Same thing.
Silvia Broome: No it isn't. If I interpreted gone as dead I'd be out of a job, if dead and gone were the same thing there'd be no UN.
Tobin Keller: Your profession is playing with words Ms. Broome.
Silvia Broome: I don't play with words.
Tobin Keller: You're doing it right now.

Silvia Broome: What do you do when you can't sleep?
Tobin Keller: I stay awake

I also like the last quotes, esp. the "What do you do when you can't sleep?" "I stay awake." lol!!
