We drove straight home and taking my advice, pretty much just dumped everything out of the suitcases. She brought me all my Net Force Explorers books so, "Thanks so much, Maki!" After settling most everything in our room, deciding where everything goes and such, we went to get lunch ready. Naomi had gone to the bank to settles some things so it was just Maki and me. Maki had a BLT and I had a ham sandwich and we enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch while watching Remingtong Steele. A very fun episode, we both liked it a lot.
Naomi came back during the episode and after it was done, the three of us headed over to the campus. Unfortunately, we hit a couple of 'hitches' in our plans of what to get done. First of all, Walter at HIC (Honda International Center) couldn't give Maki a UH number until the next orientation session which isn't until next Tuesday. Without that number, she can't register for any classes so it was a bit disappointing not being able to do that. Next tried to take the TB holds cleared but that couldn't be done until she took an actual TB test in the United States. Quite annoying to go through the whole process again though she's already taken the x-rays. Oh, well...
So we tried to have Maki take her placement tests but it was just our luck that it was already

Walked over to the Diamond Head Clinic so Maki could get her shot. While she was filling out forms and such, I started reading The Veritas Conflict which Naomi highly recommended to me. It's a Christian work of fiction and has much high praise from critics and readers alike. It's starting out quite interesting though I didn't get too far to truly grasp the feel for the book yet.
Went to the bank so Maki could open her checking account and Naomi and I did some things. The next stop was Walmart where Maki and I looked for another desk to put in our room. There's one we really liked but it was already sold out. It's a very nice desk reasonably priced so it's quite popular. But because it's so popular, it will probably be in stock perhaps next week. So hopefully we'll get a desk by next week so I don't have be doing 'computer' on my bed for the next few years. :P

Went home and Maki and I finished putting away all the 'little things' just left around. Maki then got to audio chat with her mother and brother while I chatted a bit with my parents. Also got to audio chat with Maria for a bit.
We three were getting pretty hungry so we went out to eat Thai food. Yum, I love this particular Thai restaurant! We had stuffed chicken and golden calamari for appetizers (big portions so they were like main dishes), a Thai noodle dish, and Thai yellow curry. I really like their curry, especially eating it with sticky rice.
After dinner, walked across the street to Long's. The original plan was just for Maki to get some flip-flops but in the end, we all got quite a lot of stuff. :P We gt some lined paper and notebooks which were on sale for this coming semester. I also got some pens, Haribou gummy bears, and Ghirardelli mint chocolates (I can see Mommy being very jealous... :P).

Made a quick stop at Tower Records and I got The Essential Barbra Streisand. I lover her music and was happy to get the two-disc album which is a good price considering there are 40 songs in all. Maki wanted to get a special three-disc album of Les Miserables but they didn't have it in stock.
Oh, it was so funny! I wanted to get the DVD Fosse and went up to the register to ask if they had it. As soon as I said 'Fosse', the guy and the girl behind the counter starting talking nonstop! "Fosse? Oh, with Ben (something-or-other)!""Really? I love him in that show?""Which show? Oh, THAT one!""You know it starrs Gregory Hines, too!" By this time, I could catch up to what they were saying so said, "Gregory Hines? Which movie?" Too which, naturally, started off a very nice conversation between the three of us, Naomi and Maki just staring dumbly. :P It was nice talking to some real movie-people. ^_^ Naomi just rolled her eyes...
Got home and I listened to my new cd. I already love the songs All I Ask of You, Guilty, The
Maki's going to bed now; I think I might watch an episode of Moonlighting before getting to bed. Good night to everyone! Be at ease (especially the Imamuras); Maki has arrived safe and sound! She'll be well taken care of!!

Mm, I love your song "Sing Sing Sing." Oh yeah, thanks for the card. Nice surprise. Well, glad to know Maki's safe and sound over there. Hey, cool, you got "The Essential Barbara Streisand." Hope you enjoy it!
So good to see Maki there. She looks very settled in. We had prayer meeting tonight. Seems rather quiet especially after the prayer meeting, with both of you not there ;)
Please tell Maki to make her blog into one where others can write in comments too. Thank you.
May GOD bless all of you.
hehehe...enjoy!
