Getting to Know My Classmates More...
Starting to get settled into the school schedule. ^_^ I watched a little tv this morning then before heading for English class, I went over some of the homework. Today's English class was fairly interesting, though the first part was a little boring. :P We went over our homework together so nothing is really graded or anything. Hmph, after all my work we the work wasn't really checked or anything.
The latter half of the class was spent in discussing one of the short stories we had read for homework. I like doing discussions though I can't say that everyone participated. :P The only people who comment are Maki, me, and maybe four others. The rest just stare at into space or their books with complete disinterest. :P Ah well, as long as I'm enjoying it! No school next Monday the homework is only to do two really easy 'exercises' and write the first draft of an essay about 'A Personal Experience'. I think I'm going to write about filming Newsies at the Red Brick Warehouse. I'll tell you how that goes...
Got home and had kimchee fried rice for lunch. ^_^ One of those instant Japanese packs which I love to 'cook' with so much. lol! But it was VERY good!!
Math class was quite easy today; just a recap of the Venn diagram, using it in more complicated situation. But I actually like the Venn digram so I finished doing the handbook worksheets pretty quickly. Maki also finished quickly so we stood up to leave class 40 minutes before the official end of class! Mr. Astromoff was like, "You finished already? You don't have any questions?" ^_^ Hurray, because there will be no Monday class because of Labor Day!
It's actually really nice that I can get to the chapel early. It's nice to do stretches and relax with Sharon (ballet teacher) and some other students before class starts. Sharon was giving me some tips on how to work on my turnout and was telling stories about how she started learning ballet.
Ballet class was fun, and it's especially fun since my 'partner', Candee, and I get along so well. When doing some steps which require a partner, Candee and I partner off because we're about the same height. She has kind of my personality; very energetic and makes 'sometimes' odd but funny comments. :D lol!
Since Naomi was still in her meeting when class finished, I walked home by myself. It was interesting because I took another route from what I usually take and there were soooo many cute dogs in the front yards of several houses! Of course I couldn't resist saying hello to them and petting them. Most dogs in Hawaii are mutts and mixes, but they're all very adorable! Some of the dogs living closer to our house are a bit old and mangy though... :P
Got home and started to work on my homework. English homework was SO easy; it was seriously something like I would do in 8th grade or something! It was about 'incomplete sentences' and 'fragments' and making them into complete sentences. :P Suuuuper easy. Math was a little bit more complicated, what with having to us the Venn diagram for pretty complicated problems. But I'm still finding these complicated questions challenging and fun; I hope it continues to be just that!
For dinner Naomi made chicken cream stew which was yummy! I love currys and stews, or pretty much anything you eat over rice. Aren't I quite Japanese?
While finishing up the Math homework, I finished yesterday's movie starring Michael Keaton. All in all, a forgettable movie though I still like Michael Keaton. Which reminds me; there was a poll on imdb.com about who is everyone's favorite actor with the first name of 'Michael'. First place was Michael J. Fox and second place was Michael Caine. ^_^ I voted on Michael Caine (of course).
After the movie, I finished up my ASL homework (super easy) and now I think I'm going to try to go to bed early tonight. ^_^ Sorry, no pictures. I really intended to go to school with my camera so I could take some pictures but.... :P Well, you probably guessed that I didn't actually take my camera with me so... no pictures...
I hear that school has started for the kids back in Japan. Hope you had a great day (though technically you didn't really have school.) I hope you all have at camp; make sure to take lots of pictures and video clips so you can send them to me through chat! Don't forget!!

Another School Day
(Hardly any pictures today so while Erin, Maki, and I were studying, I took pictures of us while we were doing so (Maki took my picture for me))
This morning Naomi had gone off for a business meeting so Maki and I had to go walk to school. ^_^ First time walking to school by way of Kilauea street, which is basically all an uphill slope. :S Quite a feat to walk by way of that street, and I don't think I particularly like that road much. :P It was very muggy today so I'm glad I remembered to bring my water bottle!
It's so nice that the history class is VERY air conditioned. :P After walking for about 30 minutes it felt good to just relax for a few minutes in a cool room before class actually began. Nichelle had arrived earlier than us and had sat close to where Maki and I had been sitting the last few weeks. ^_^ So I sat right in front of her and we got to chat before and after class started. She's taking Japanese Conversation course so I offered any help she might want. ^_^
We studied on the Neolithic Period and the Neolithic Revolution. Interesting material; so far we haven't had to open any of our books. ^_^ And again, no homework!! Hurray!
It was embarrassing though that in one part towards the end of my class, my cell phone rang. :P At first I didn't realize it was my phone but after finding out I quickly turned it off. Later on I listened to the voice mail which Naomi had left for me (she had been the one calling me). The original plan was for Maki and I to stay on campus for lunch until our next class because Naomi would be busy with another meeting. However, Naomi called to say that the meeting had been canceled so she could take us home. ^_^ Yay! I much prefer eating and relaxing at home during the lunch break instead of
staying on campus and eating cafeteria food. :P Of course, there is Subway but still, eating at home is always better.
For lunch I made a ham sandwich and played some Mahjong while listening to music. Then it was time for all of us to head for campus. Naomi stopped by to get her diplomas and they are REALLY beautiful. I'll try to get a picture some time so that I can put on my blog. It's green so that of course made Naomi very pleased. :D
Naomi and I went to ASL class and that was lots of fun as usual. Ami Tsuji-Jones (our teacher) is really nice and teaches in a way that makes it fun to learn. A lot of us in class are trying to sign in our normal conversations even outside of class. ^_^

Went home after class and since I didn't have any homework, I decided to watch a movie. I was only able to watch one half of the movie though I didn't care too much because the movie wasn't too great. It was an 80's Ron Howard film starring Michael Keaton about a Japanese auto company opening in America. One thing I couldn't stand were the the 'Japanese' characters who could hardly speak coherent Japanese! It was really terrible. :S Annoying, but kind of funny at the same time. lol! The best thing about the movie would have to be Michael Keaton. He's such a versatile actor, it's always funny to recall just how many different 'kinds' of characters he's played.
Today is Tuesday so it was Maki's and my turn to cook dinner. ^_^ Naomi actually helped out quite a bit but Maki and I did most everything. Today's menu consisted of garlic chicken, spinach salad, and fried potatoes (besides some leftovers). Very delicious if I do say so myself. :P
After dinner, Maki and I reviewed our math homework. It's really nice having a real 'classmate' who I can go over school work and such. I've never really had that back home because I always had studies by myself.

I reviewed my English reading assignments and thought up a thesis for my English essay while watching some tv (strange that I seem to be able to do that...). Afterwards I downloaded a song that was interesting because... Johnny Depp played the guitar for it! :D Nice song...
Well, I'm off to bed now since it's getting late, yet once again. :P

And So Another Week of School Begins
Had a hard time falling asleep last night so I was in bed until 9:30 when Maki and Erin came home from their morning class. ^_^ I had a quick breakfast and did some computer before Naomi took Maki and I to our English class. Today's class was a bit boring; we did some discussion though it wasn't that interesting; discussions were on the E.B. White essay 'Once More to the Lake' (E.B. White wrote Charlotte's Web and the Stuart Little books). An interesting essay but not that particularly 'fascinating'. The rest of the class was also spent just reading some essay from the Diamond Head Journal.
Naomi took us home and Maki and I prepared our own lunch. I made one of my wonderful omelettes with the leftover meat from the meatloaf. Yum! Ericson came by around 12:15 to drop something off for Maki. Since he had never been inside the house, he came into the living room/dining room/kitchen (there was no way he was seeing our rooms, especially since it's not exactly 'guest worthy'... ^_^) He ended up staying quite a bit and was most kind enough to offer taking Erin, Maki, and I to class! We of course accepted the offer readily because since Naomi had the car, we would have had to walk to campus. Going by car is much nicer than walking. So many thanks to Ericson!
Math class was fun if not a bit complicated. :P The type of math problems where I have to go over several times to make sure I'm getting it right. We all got our homeworks back from last week and I didn't have any mistakes! The only thing was that instead of only putting down the answers, Mr. Astromoff wants us also to write how we came to the conclusions we put down as the anwers. Our homework isn't graded so that's really good.
This math class is soooo nice; if we get our handbook work completed quickly, we can leave class early! :D Got to get our of class twenty minutes early so that I had about thirty minutes of free time before ballet class started. A lot of the students were already at the chapel and we all got to mingle and chat a lot. Another girl and I also started playing the piano; she could play 'All I Ask of You'! Then I started playing 'Think of Me' and some of my classics when Sharon (my teacher) came up and asked if I wanted to play accompaniment for the class. :P I'm sure she was joking...
Anyway, ballet class was lots of fun; I'm really thankful for the fast pace I used to have to keep up with in broadway musical dance class and tap class. Because I had to be really quick in learning steps, memorizing the ballet steps are a snap for me. ^_^
Naomi picked Erin and me up from our classes and took us home. I immediately started doing my homework in the living room while watching random tv. I had to sort of redo my math homework from last week now that I know that I have to explain how I get my math answers. Plus today's homework was a bit 'confusing', though I think I got it right... maybe...
I stopped doing homework to eat dinner. Erin was in class and Naomi was at sign dance so Maki and I prepared our own dinner. While eating we watched the latter half of 'The Importance of Being Earnest' since she's never gotten to finish the movie. ^_^ Colin Firth is so funny when he says about Rupert Everett, 'The next thing you know he's going to deny he's Earnest Worthing in the first place!' lol! Priceless looks on both of their faces!

After watching that, I was finally able to finish my other homework including a fairly easy English assignment. Done with that, here I am now writing my blog. ^_^ Getting late so I'm going to end it like this with a picture of the 'Fantastic Four'. Aren't we lovely in our piano recital dresses? All blacks... LOL!

Greek Food, a Nap, and a Mystery of 'Five Little Pigs'
It was up at 7:30 for all of us because we were going to the 8:30 service at Kaimuki Christian Church. We all got ready in time and made it to service; from today Pastor Ron is starting his series on Christianity and other world religions. Today's sermon was on 'Pluralism' and I thought it was quite interesting. A woman came up and gave a very good testimony on her experiences of having gone to a 'New Age' church. It's amazing how these radical ideas are 'disguised' behind the title of a 'church'.
After the service, Erin, Maki, Croz, and I were playing with the drums and having a nice time just talking (Naomi had gone to talk to some other people). I was also able to have a chat with Joe, especially about how I might be able to cotninue taking some drums lessons even while I'm going to college.
Got home and started our own service at 10:30. Maki and I made up the worship teaming, playing piano and guitar again. Naomi led service today and talked about "Because He Chose Us, We Love Him", reading from Ephesians 1:4-5 and Psalm 31:23-. We finished and for a while we just relaxed in our rooms, undecided on what to do for lunch. We finally decided on eating Greek food (where Naomi and I had eaten on Friday). I love the food so I didn't mind eating for the second time in a few days. ^_^
I drove over there and was able to park the car without any icidents. :P I had the gyros chicken sandwich again while Naomi had a gyros salad, Erin had a fish sandwich, and Maki had the gyros plate. We also shared an large appetizer together which had an assortment of different dips for the pita breat and some other Greek food that I don't exactly know the names of. :P
Got home and I was completely exhausted for some reason. I just knew I needed a nap so around 2:30 I took a nap. Before I knew it, it was past 4:30! I must have been really tired... I'm so glad that I was able to take that nap before the week started up again!
I was still 'dazed' from just having woken up so I just watched an episode of L&O without really taking in everything. :P I think it was a good episode... I can't exactly remember everything. :P Naomi came in and after flipping some channels we decided to watch the last half of Two Weeks Notice. It's the only movie where I can actually stand Hugh Grant. I don't like him too much... but he's actually quite likable in this movie. ^_^ Plus Sandra Bullock is such a great comedienne, and does slapstick so well. lol!
After the movie, we all just made out own plates of leftovers and watched Five Little Pigs. I've read the book but I had forgotten a bit so it was fun to watch. Poirot (or, in
reality Agatha Christie) is a genius. Magnifique! The only thing that I found strange was that some little 'things' were added in that was strange... But it wasn't too big a deal. Different director since this was made in 2003, so more recent. It had a lot of actors/actresses I had seen before. First there was Toby Stephens (the bad guy in Die Another Day). Plays an 'icky' character in Five Little Pigs. Then there was Julie Cox (I was like 'AHA!' when I found out later she had played the Childlike Empress in The Neverending Story III) and Gemma Jones (played Queen Victoria in Shanghai Knights and some other small roles). But the most interesting guest star was Aidan Gillen who played the cool, bad guy in Shanghai Knights (picture on right)! Too bad he was the victim though he certainly wasn't a 'perfect' character. :P Cool guy though, looks a bit like Alec Baldwin.
I took a nap and though I'm not too tired, I still know I need to go to bed early today. :P At least, a little bit earlier than usual. ^_^ In closing, a beautiful picture of a beautiful actress, Ingrid Bergman, who would have been celebrating her birthday if not having died in 1982. Beautiful actress, it's hard for any of the actresses of today to even come close to her 'honest' beauty. Favorite films include Spellbound (starred with Gregory Peck, two VERY beautiful people), Casablanca (DUH! Of course!!), Notorious (another wonderful Hitchcock masterpiece), and Anastasia (for which she deserved a Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Actress).

A Nice, Busy (but relaxing) Saturday
Since I had a ballet class yesterday, I was a bit stiff and sore when I woke up
this morning. :P Naomi and I waqtched Moonlighting while having breakfast. It was really interesting because one of the guest stars was a very young Richard Belzer from Law & Order: SVU who also guest stars a lot on Law & Order! He's a really interesting character, VERY funny (he's also a commedian.) It's so funny the interesting guest stars who pop up on Moonlighting. A few examples are Orson Welles (Third Man, Citizen Kane), Dennis Stewart (Grease), Tim Robbins (The Hudsucker Proxy), Cotter Smith (X2), Eva Marie Saint (North By Northwest), Michael Jeter (Open Range) and an assorted number of people who have guest starred on such shows like Murder, She Wrote and Remington Steele.
We began our weekly house cleaning next. Yesterday we had already decided on who does what work and so on and so forth. It's a good thing we had done that because the cleanup went so smoothfully! We all knew what we had to do and got it done very quickly. :D
After cleanup and had a lunch of spinach salad, I finished off my homework for English and ASL. The English homework was fairly easy; just had to do some reading. Then for ASL I had to watch a DVD accompanied with my ASL textbook and answer some questions. VERY easy; having learned Japanese Sign Language and also experiencing 'talking' and being around deaf people makes this class very easy.

As soon as I finished all my homework (yay, nothing more!) Maki and I watched a movie. I wanted to watch something 'epic' so I decided on Open Range since Maki had wanted to see it, too. Kevin Costner... what more can I
say? :P I like how Open Range is such a tribute to the 'old' westerns; it captures the beauty of the west and portrays such strong and likable heroes (and heroine). ^_^ Not for younger kids, definitely not, but I can recommend to adults who love the old westerns.
After the movie, Maki and I practiced for tomorrow's praise and worship songs. We had a new song though the chords were simple enough for us to get fairly quickly. When we finished practiced, we fooled around a bit (well, mostly I fooled around... :P) getting out my movie songs pianobook and playing songs at randomly.
Dinner was meatloaf with tomato sauce and sauteed spinach. Oh, and also a tuna/pasta dish. Scrumptious! (I think you've heard me say 'delicious' or 'yummy' too many times. Decided to use another synonym. ^_^) Cleaned up everything then while Naomi started watching Ever After, Erin, Maki, and I went to Tower Records. I wanted to get a dvd but after looking through all the aisles, I realized that it's a lot cheaper to order from the Tower Records web site. So in the end I didn't buy anything. :P Pretty good record for me, huh? ^_^
Got home and watched the end of Ever After with Naomi then watched an episode of Moonlighting while writing this blog. ^_^ I'm very good and doing other things while watching tv/movies. It's a gift and a talent. lol!
In closing... today is Billy Boyd's birthday! Happy 37 years! Here is a very nice picture him that Maki picked out. ^_^ Trust her to find a good pic of him... Toodles!

Technically, a Full Week of School Has Ended!
Today I only had one class in the afternoon so it didn't really count as a 'school day'. Naomi was kind enough to sew an extra curtain cloth to our curtain so it's very thick now. I could sleep in till like 9:30! ^_^ Went to bed late last night so it was nice being able to sleep in a bit (though I had woken up when Maki's alarm went off since she had a 8:00 ASL class).
I watched some tv then around 11:30 Naomi and I left for Costco. I was driving since I needed to have the practice. We stopped by the bank before going over to Costco. We ate Greek food for lunch before actually shopping; I had a gyros chicken sandwich (excellent!) and Naomi had a gyros plate. I love the food at this restaurant since I don't get to eat much Greek food in Japan.

After lunch, we shopped in Costco and I was able to buy the newely released four-DVD set, Poirot: The New Mysteries Collection. It includes the movies Sad Cypress, Death on the Nile, The Hollow, and Five Little Pigs. I don't remember seeing any of these movies except for Death on the Nile. Looking forward to watching them!
Drove back home and was able to relax a bit before heading off for my ballet class from 3:15 ~ 4:30. Today's class was a bit faster paced than last week's; we actually started releves and piques. They're not very difficult but when you do them at a fast beat, it's a little difficult. We also started a bit on our jumps from demi plie positions. :P
Talked with some of the other students after class then walked over to the Diamond Head Theatre so that I could sign up for dance lessons for the fall season. I'm thinking of taking Tap for Musical Theatre which is a class for teens and adults. The normal Tap classes are on Thursday so it might be a difficult for to take that class while doing college. The Tap for Musical Theatre lessons are on Saturday mornings which is better time-wise for me. So I'll see how that goes!
Naomi picked me up at DHT and I was totally exhausted when I got home. :P Ballet is a lot tougher than it looks, especially since we're completely focused on the exercises to strengthen our calves and turnouts. And our teacher wouldn't want us to break an ankle or something. :P
Maki and I hung all the laundry and got the rice ready for dinner (Naomi had gone to pick Erin up from her internship). I watched an episode of L&O while putting my feet up. Oooh... my feet....

For dinner we had raw salmon and sashimi from Costco for dinner. YUM! Naomi also bought a big bag of spinach so she made a garlicky spinach dish which I really liked. As a child I think I watched too many Popeye cartoons because I looooove spinach. ^_^
As soon as the dishes were washed and everything was put away, we had a 'meeting' in Maki's/my room. We discussed how we'll do the housework; who'll do what and how we'll separate the workload so that everyone gets to chip in with everything. It went well and ended with lots of laughter. ^_^
We all watched The Hollow and it was kind of sad because it isn't as good as all the other Poirot movies. The director was different and the whole style was very different, especially the camerawork. And on the overall, I didn't like the story because the whole story was centered
around the death of a VERY unlikable and annoying character. *rolls eyes* It was also incredible how much it 'showed' on a tv movie! Oh, it was interesting because the movie had two actor/actress I immediately recognized! The butler was played by the butler from The Importance of Being Earnest and one of the main women in the story was Megan Dodds who played Marguerite, the 'evil stepsister' in Ever After. She was really pretty in the movie and a very smart woman who for some reason loved a VERY unworthy guy... :P
Before I head off to bed (tomorrow I don't have to get up early since my drum lesson with Joe was cancelled), I'm going to do something unique to finish my blog. I'll just end it! :D Good night! Have a great evening/morning (depending on when you're reading this). ^_^

Almost a Full Week of College is Over!
This morning Maki and I had a History class from 10:45. It was actually quite an... 'interesting' class. The reason is because we had to deal with 'Pre-History', meaning the origin of man. Meaning... we had to learn about the theory of evolution, 'big bang', and 'survival of the fittest'. Mr. Cassity did mention a little about evolution but on the overall, he put down the Bible and overall, put down Christians. The girl sitting behind me was obviously a Christian because she was pretty upset and was muttering the whole time during class. :P After class I talked to her a bit though I didn't get a chance to get her name or anything.
Overall, it was a bit sad to hear all this pro-evolution stuff but I kept my mouth shut for the most part and was just glad that today's class is the only one going over pre-history. From next week we finally get into history. And there's still no homework except having to make like a name plaque to put on our desks so Mr. Cassity can tell who is who. So yay!
Oh, it's so interesting! Nichelle from my English and Ballet class is also in my History class! After class she and I were able to talk while Maki talked to Cassity about getting into the class. So it seems I'll be seeing Nichelle every day in some sort of class. ^_^
Naomi picked Maki and I up and after stopping by the post office to send some things, we went home. Maki and I had a very good lunch of all kinds of food. :P Bacon, eggs, toast, cucumber and carrot sticks, and salad.
The next class was ASL from 1:45 and when I went into the room, I saw that this girl Shannon was also in my history class! She recognized me, too so we had a chance to chat before class started. It was another very enjoyable class; Ami (our teacher) is really good at teaching and makes the whole class laught a lot! We got to get our of class early again since everyone's a fast learner and we get through the material very quickly. Got some homework, but it's all easy stuff. Just watch the ASL dvd, answer a few questions, read a few pages, and write her an e-mail about what we thought of today's class. Easy!
Because we got home early, I got to take a little break before helping out with the sign dance back in Japan. It's going well; I actually didn't have to help change much for We Go Together since they got most of it worked out before I got on video chat. I could tell some certain people were tired (:P) but on the overall, everyone was doing their best and it's nice to get that feel through the camera. It's fun seeing everyone though we don't get to really chat or anything. ^_^ Good job!
Right after the video conversation with the sign dance group in Japan, I went to the Diamond Head Theatre for my tap class. Today's class was pretty tough; during the intermediate level the teacher though up such difficult steps that she used them later on again in the advanced level! Whew! But it's so much fun to do challenging steps. (on the left is a picture of my teacher and me. It took quite a bit of convincing for me to get that picture. :P)
It's strange, after going to college then going to this tap class where everyone's is under 16, they seem soooo 'childish'. :P It's like such a huge age difference gap. Before, I was sort of still included in the group but everything's different now that I'm a college student. :P Don't take this wrong or anything, I know I'm still going to find it completely natural to hang out with all the kids of KCIS back home in Japan. No matter the age and no matter how much time passes, I know I still have 12 best friends in Japan. ^_^ Makes me think what it'll be like in ten, fifteen, twenty years from now we have like a KCIS school reunion or something. Wouldn't that be fun? Lol!
Got home after a delicious dinner (all the food I eat here is delicious!) we had our prayer meeting. Before actually starting we were slightly hyper, doing very funny things on the couch. *ahem* Anyway, our prayer meeting went very well where we all made prayer requests then one by one we prayed for one another.
After going to our rooms for a little while to do comuter and such, Naomi and I watched some Moonlighting episodes in the living room. Very funny episodes; Bruce Willis had some great lines in both episodes. One of my favorite parts was when Bruce Willis did a Curly (from the Three Stooges) imitation. 'Coitenly!' (certainly). lol! Then he starts humming in that funny way in which Curly does. Hilarious!

Now, it's definitely time for bed. :P Getting late and getting sleepy... Tomorrow Naomi and I are going to head for Costco for shopping and do some other assorted errands. Then I have my
ballet class in the late afternoon.
Good night folks, I know I usually end my blogs with some quotes or pictures or something. So let's see... how about a few wallpapers for the upcoming movie Flightplan? Yes, that IS Sean Bean. ^_^

College is Becoming More and More Fun! (I hope it lasts... ^_^)
This morning I spent some time catching up on some fanfics that I had received story alerts but hadn't gotten around to reading them. That was very relaxing way to spend the morning with breakfast in bed. ^_^
Naomi drove Maki and I to campus for our 10:45 English class. A few students didn't show up but on the most part, everyone came to class. We all got back our papers we had written last week about our writing experiences; Maki and I were both told we wrote very well! After doing some freewriting, we read a chapter from a book called 75 Readings. It was a chapter about how to begin planning and drafting; afterwards, we had like a time of discussion. Having the discussion was lots of fun; we're all sitting in a kind of a circle so we had to go around saying what we thought of the text. It was funny because these two guys were commenting on my comments and I commented back. So I commented on their commenting on my comment. :P We might have gone on but the teacher wanted everyone to have a chance to speak.
We got our first essay assignment for English which is going to be due in a few weeks. Sounds like a fun experience; either write on A Personal Experience or Three Foods You Like. I'll probably stick to A Personal Experience. :P
Class finished and I wanted to walk home so after Maki agreed, we did just that. It's such a pleasant walk and I'm getting a little used to Hawaii weather. I actually was able to survive walking outside in the middle of the day in long jeans! Amazing...
After getting home, had a simple lunch while watching Full House with everyone. Very cute episodes, especially with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson a bit older so that they have more lines. ^_^
Before going to Math class, both Maki and I went over our math homework a bit. :P Just in case we missed something. Erin took us to class this time and though we were perhaps ten minutes ahead of time, the room was already pretty full though Maki and I were able to get seats closer to the front this time. Before class started I was able to talk a bit with two other students. Sooo NOT math people since they didn't seem to have any clue about the homework or math studies. :P Mr. Astromoff taught us about sets and subsets which I knew a little bit about already so it wasn't too demanding. I'm actually liking math so far; some may find it difficult to imagine but I do like problem solving. I think another reason I'm enjoying math right now is the fact that I have a math teacher. Having to study and figure out yourself is completely different from actually having a teacher.
Since math can finish a bit early since the last 30 minutes is like a free time for us to work in our handbooks and ask questions if we have any, Maki and I parted ways and I headed for the chapel for ballet class. It was really interesting because I went in and came face to face with Nichelle from my English class! We immediately recognized each other and it was like, "Aren't you in my English class?" :P Very funny that we've gone to two English classes and one ballet class and we didn't make the connection till right then. ^_^ She and her friend, Rachel, and I got to talk a bit and I really liked the both of them.
Today's ballet class was more interesting than the first class because we started on the actual physical practices of ballet. Learned tondu and ronde de jambs, en bah and en hau (I've probably spelled all the French terms incorrectly so forgive the mistakes. At least, that's what the words sound like... :P)
After class Erin was waiting to drive me home since her class finished just before mine. Got home and did my math homework in the living room. Interesting math questions though there's one questions I don't get... maybe you guys can help?
Questions: In the set of {1,{1}}, how many elements are in the set, one or two? Hmmm... I'm thinking it's two because an element of a set is defined by the objects inside the set. The number '1' naturally counts as one element, shouldn't the subset {1} inside the set be considered another element? If you have any thoughts on this (or the answer!), I'd appreciate them!
Both Naomi and Erin were gone (Naomi for sign dance practice, Erin for class) so Maki and I rummaged through leftovers to prepare our own dinners. I ended up with rice, salad, carrots in dip, a drumstick, and an omelette. Yummm...!
Maki went to do some homework and I watched Moonlighting for a bit. Naomi came home and joined me for a bit. All I can say is that Bruce Willis is soooooo young...
I got to talk to both my parents on the phone for quite a bit which is always tons of fun! I get to hear about what's going on in Japan, both at home and church. And hearing about the dogs is always fun! Seems there's a typhoon approaching Japan. Poor dogs are probably going to be scared. Awww...
Well, it's getting late since I've been taking a long time writing this blog while doing several other random things. ^_^
In honor of Sean Connery's birthday (75 years old... whoah), here are a few of his quotes (real life quotes, not movie quotes):
"There is one big difference between James Bond and me... he is able to sort out problems!"
"Perhaps I'm not a good actor, but I would be even worse at doing anything else."
"I am not an Englishman, I was never an Englishman, and I don't ever want to be one. I am a Scotsman! I was a Scotsman and I will always be one."

Second Day of School (almost like a first day)
Since all of my school days begin at 10:45 in the morning, I get to pretty much have a relaxing morning. ^_^ At least, for the while that I don't have too much homework or tests coming up...
I watched a little tv while doing some computer then Naomi dropped Maki and I off to our first class which was History 151. And what can I say; I think this may be one of my favorite classes! I know I'm being a little premature in my opinion but so far, my history teacher, Brian Cassity, seems like a terrific teacher! He has a PHD and he said that in his fourteen years of studying, he's had all straight A's, meaning his GPA is 4.0! Mind boggling, isn't it? He was telling this because he also said that he was the worst student during his high school years, almost getting kicked out on several occasions. :P He gave us a wonderful lecture on what this class is going to be about, and what he expects from us as his students. All in all, I thought that the time flew by because his talk was easy to listen to and easy to understand.
We finished exactly on time (noon) and we got to leave class without any homework. ^_^ Hurray! Naomi picked Maki and me up and we went hoe for lunch. Ham sandwichs, yum! Sandwiches are the best when you can have cucumbers in them...
Naomi left right after lunch to take Maki to the campus (she needed to check with our math teacher about getting registered into his class) and then afterwards pick Erin up from her internship. I was left at home until Naomi came back and took me to campus for my ASL class (which I'm taking with Naomi. ^_^)
ASL classes are usually three times a week but because our ASL classes are only twice a week, they're a bit longer than the usual class (a little over two hours). Our teacher is a deaf woman and is an excellent teacher. She made everyone feel very comfortable and had every single person participate. There were maybe about twenty people in the room and we had to remember everyone's name so that we could sign and greet each other. ^_^ Whew, it's good that I know a little ASL so that I could keep up! The girl sitting next to me, Lori, couldn't understand some bits so I helped her a bit; hopefully we'll get to know each other over this semester since she seems like a really nice girl.
As I said, it was a very 'class participation' type of class. We all had to go up front and 'say' our names and afterwards did many 'visual' exercises. For example, she'll have us go up front and will sign for us to draw or write something on the board. We had to figure out on our own what it was that she was signing. Actually, everyone is pretty 'sharp' in my class and caught on fairly quickly. Most everyone looked like they were really enjoying themselves and since it's such a 'fun' class, I'm hoping this is a class where I can make some friends.
Got home and as soon as I sat down at the computer the kids at church in Japan called on chat. ^_^ I must honestly say that I was so proud of them when I saw them do I Will Worship and Open the Eyes without any obvious mistakes! I seriously didn't have to say anything, only a few suggestions here and there. We worked mostly on Hear Our Praises which is a bit more tricky because there is more dance and movement involved, especially with the crates incorporated in the dance. We went through the whole dance and after we had decided on everything, there really wasn't much more I could really teach! Honestly, everyone is doing exceptionally well (though I admit I don't say too much how exceptionally good they are during practice since it might get to their heads... :P). Still, they'll need lots of ractice, practice, practice! Only song left to re-choreograph is We Go Together but I'm trying to let Maria handle most of the chances since she's being doing very well so far. Good luck everyone, continue in the good work!
Naomi made a delicious dinner of a potato dish and chicken drumsticks (when I heard just the word drumsticks, I just stared at Naomi for a few seconds until I realized what she meant. :P) lol!
After dinner, I got to talk with Aunt Jean on the phone to tell her how the past few days have been. She was really happy to hear that I'm 'surviving' (^_^) the first few days of college. When that was over, I began doing my ballet homework which was to read a chapter in my book on the history of ballet. It's actually fascinating how the forms of ballet came to be. Oh, and when the book began telling about the history in the 20th century, there was quite a few mentions of Mikhail Baryshnikov! Sigh... no wonder he's considered one of the best ballet dancers in the world and one of the highest jumpers in the ballet world (see picture). All I can say is... wow. For ballet class I have to watch a full length ballet and write a paper on it. I can decided which ballet to watch though I'm definitely seeing something with Baryshnikov in it. Perhaps Don Quixote or Carmen. Must decided soon...
I relaxed and watched a few episodes of L&O before getting ready for bed. I might go through my ballet book a little bit before actually going to bed. Some of the French terms are hard to get
so I need to review a bit. Well, good night! I'm a bit nervous about handing in my homework for English and Math; hopefully I did well. :S
Before I close this off, here's a picture of Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy, best EADA in tv history. ^_^

:P) lol!

I relaxed and watched a few episodes of L&O before getting ready for bed. I might go through my ballet book a little bit before actually going to bed. Some of the French terms are hard to get

First Day of College!
Maki and Erin had to go to an early ASL class so I kind of heard Maki getting up early but I just fell asleep again. :P Woke up around 8:30 and after getting all my stuff ready for class, watched an episode of L&O to relax. I have to admit I was pretty nervous in the morning... :P
As soon as Maki and Erin came home, we all went straight back to campus since Naomi had a meeting with someone. Erin helped Maki with some forms to help in registration and after that, Maki and I headed for our English 100 class. Our teacher is the Swedish woman named Gunnel Lamb-Tamura. She seems like a really nice lady but the type of teacher who won't take any nonsense from anyone. ^_^ Since it was the first day, she paired everyone off with someone they had never met and we were given a little while to talk and get to know one another. I was paired off with this guy named Sterling who is 'haole' but lived the first 16 years of his life in Mexico! So his first language is Spanish and he worked up to ENG100 from ESL22 (English as a Second Language). It was interesting because we got to talk about living in different countries.
The last thing we did was write a one-page paper on our writing backgrounds such as 'what kind of writing do we like', 'what are our writing weaknesses', 'what are our strengths', etc. Class finished at noon so Naomi drove Maki and I home and after lunch I got to work on the homework I already had from English class. Did some of the reading then went back to campus with Maki for the 1:45 Math 100 class. Our teacher's name is Andrew Astromoff and he was a really nice teacher though I don't particularly like math. :P We actually had a full class today; he taught us about inductive and deductive reasoning and had us work in our handbooks so our class ended as scheduled at 3:00.
Since Maki was done for the day, we parted ways and she stopped by the bookstore to buy some books while I headed over to the 'chapel' for my ballet class. My teacher, Sharon, is a really upbeat type of person and full of energy. I really like her and since she's also a teacher of 'Logic and Reasoning', she teaches ballet in very simple and 'logical' terms. We didn't actually do much of actual ballet though we went through some of the basic movements.
So, I was all done for the day at 4:30. Naomi picked me up and as soon as I got home and started on my homework. I worked on my English 'exercises' and finished just in time for dinner. Naomi made New England corn beef which was very good; my first time to try it!
Right after dinner it was time to get my math homework finished. Quite a bit of reading to do and though there weren't too many questions to answer and all of them not too hard, all of it was time consuming. You know my personality; check, check over, re-check, then finally browse through everything once more. :P At least I finished in a little less than an hour!
Around 8:30, Naomi took Maki and me to Long's Drugstore because we needed more notebooks and folders for class. Got home and after finishing off a few of my math questions which I hadn't finished, Naomi and I relaxed in front of the tv and watched an episode of L&O. A VERY good episode, one which kept me on the edge of my seat. You know, the type of episode where you KNOW the guy is guilty but because of 'legalities' he might get off free! Well, thankfully, the jury convicted him of all charges and he went to prison.
It was nice because I was able to talk to both my parents today on the phone! ^_^ It's nice to get encouragement about school and to know that they are proud of me. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for me about my starting college; it's finally started and though I'm still a bit 'nervous' about the whole thing, a lot of the anxiety is gone now that it's begun. Tomorrow's another first day since I'll be having History and ASL class, both which I'm looking forward to!
Hardly any pictures at all today! :S Here's a picture of Bianca trying to kill Sophie. lol!

Sunday, My Last Day Before School Starts
Today we went to the 8:30 Sunday morning service so had to wake up by 7:30. Erin had already gone to the church to pratice playing the keyboard for the morning worship. Naomi, Maki, and I had a quick breakfast and headed for Kaimuki Christian Church. Tony was leading and Erin did a great job on the keyboard. ^_^ Everyone was complimenting her and saying how they liked seeing her up on the worship team.
After the service we were able to fellowship with many friends from
church, including Jenny who we hadn't seen for a while since she had been on vacation. She's excited because her School for Creative Hearts is starting tomorrow!
<---- Ok, the picture on the left is very random but today Naomi was commenting how I look so much like an adult so I had to takea picture and see if you thought so. :P Of course, I had to 'poste'. ^_^
Went home and Erin led our church service. Maki and I played the guitar and piano; it was nice to worship with instruments! Erin gave a very good sermon on "Being Joyful and Thankful". She made it very clear how both are tied in. Without joy, we cannot be thankful; if we are not thankful, how can we be full of joy? The Bible says in I Thessalonians chapter 5 that we must 'Be joyful always' and 'give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus'. Well, that really doesn't give much room for excuses, does it? ^_^ I think it was something we all needed to hear, considering school will be starting soon and Naomi will be working at home. :P We'll be needing a lot of joy and the right heart to be thankful in all things!
We were all pretty exhausted after everything so we all relaxed in our individual rooms. For lunch we went to Kahala Mall and ate Panda Express. I admit, it was my suggestion but no one was complaining! Their food is just sooooo good! The fortune in my fortune cookie was interesting; it said something like 'You will have the fortune that you desire most'. Wonder
what that means...?
Got home and basically everyone collapsed in their rooms. Erin and Maki actually took short naps. :P I was lazily downloading some songs; I like listening to Wilson Phillips recently. I found out that the Wilson sisters are the daughters of one of the Beach Boys, and Phillips is the daughter of one of the members of the Mamas and the Papas. No wonder they can harmonize so beautifully! Excellent coaches... :P
At 3:00, it was 10:00 over in Japan so they were beginning the sign dance pratice for the kids. One thing I can tell you; directing over a webcam is MUCH more difficult than one could imagine! For one thing, the movements and sounds are a beat off so it takes a bit in getting used to that difference. But everyone was paying attention and trying real hard so that we were able to get two songs ready! I know, only two songs you might think but I think that's real great! They were the two most difficult songs so the rest should be no problem. Great job everyone!!

By that time we were done (almost 5:00), I was pretty exhausted and my cold suddenly got worse. I laid down for a bit and just tried to relax as much as possible. Around 6:00, I went to the living room and flipped channels; settled on America's Most Talented Kid, a talent show for kids. The host was Dave Coulier who I LOVE in Full House. It was interesting because one of the celebrity judges was Daryl Sabara, who some may know as the boy from the Spy Kids series.
My favorites of today's contestants were a fifteen-year-old boy who played REALLY good jazz piano while singing (he won first place), a fifteen-year-old girl who did modern ballet (you wouldn't believe how flexible she was!), a nine-year-old girl who tap danced and sang, and an eleven-year-old boy who did tap dancing. Oh, the ballet girl I mentioned had already won 13 dance scholarships! She was REALLY good! They were all extremely talented and I enjoyed watching it.
We had watched the last thirty minutes while eating dinner; salmon patties, moyashi, and asparagus. After cleaning up, Naomi suggested we watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding so we all shared the couch to watch it. It's such a funny movie, one of the best 'wedding' movies out there besides the Father of the Bride series. Opah!!
Well, now I'm going to go get ready for school tomorrow. :P I'll be having math class in the morning, then English and ballet in the afternoon. I think I'm going to take a peek at my ballet book right now. Wish me luck on my first day of college!
Here are a few of my favorite lines from My Big Fat Greek Wedding:
Gus Portokalos: There are two kinds of people - Greeks, and everyone else who wish they was Greek.
Toula Portokalos: Ma, Dad is so stubborn. What he says goes. "Ah, the man is the head of the house!"
Maria Portokalos: Let me tell you something, Toula. The man is the head, but the woman is the neck. And she can turn the head any way she wants.
Toula Portokalos: If nagging were an Olympic sport, my Aunt Voula would win a gold medal!
Yianni: Ian, if you're gonna be in this family, I get you some earplugs because the Portokalos women, if they're not nagging someone... THEY DIE!

Last Weekend Before School Starts...
This morning I watched a couple of tv episodes that I had taped the other day. Naomi came in later on and after flipping through some channels she decided on a James Bond movie so I stayed in the living room and watched
with her. It's been so long since I've seen the older James Bond movies. They're doing a Bond marathon, showing ALL of the James Bond movies. ^_^ Thunderball was showing at that time so we watched it; during the middle of the film Maki joined us and we had lunch while finishing the movie. Thunderball is definitely one of my favorite Sean Connery/James Bond films, besides For Your Eyes Only.
During the whole morning and during lunch, Erin had gone out with her friend. After getting home after 1:00, Naomi, Maki, and I headed out to go see a movie. We got slightly mixed up since I had planned the day for going to Ward Theatres while Naomi thought we were going to Kahala Theatres. :P So we couldn't make it on
time for Ward so instead went to Kahala a bit early for the next showing of the movie. So got to spend some time at Barnes & Nobles before getting our seats.
The movie we went to see was Red Eye, which is a term used for late-night airplane flights. It's a thriller and quite scary so I can only recommend for older teens and adults. For a 'recent' thriller film, I actually
enjoyed it quite a bit. Rachel McAdams is stunning as the beautiful heroine and Cillian Murphy is REEAAAALLLLLY scary! Anyway, the matinee price was worth it.
I drove home then we individually spent our time doing our own things. Tried working a bit more on my fanfiction though I'm 'slowing' down a bit. :P It was nice because I was able to talk with my parents for quite a bit today which is always nice. I miss them and my dogs so much!
While Naomi and Erin were preparing dinner, Maki and I practiced for tomorrow's worship songs. Maki is going to play the guitar while I play the keyboard so we practiced the four songs we're singing tomorrow. Nice playing the piano again though the keyboard has less keys than a standard piano. I have to get used to it. :p
Dinner was good (as always) and I ate quite a bit. We had this interesting Chinese egg-drop soup which was delicious, even for being one of those 'packet' soups. After dinner, we went to our rooms. I was writing some movie reviews and chatting with some people.
Ahhh, college classes start day after tomorrow!!! :S Ok, I have to honestly say that I'm getting a bit nervous. Tomorrow I'll probably be a wreck, looking at all the textbooks and trying to get everything ready. Naomi and Erin are promising me that I'll do fine but... it's my nature to worry... :P Well, I know I'll do find; it's just that I'm the type of person who worries before I actually do things or go somewhere. Ah well... tomorrow's Sunday, and I'll also be having a
special 'video conference' set up with the kids of KCIS as they prepare for a sign dance performance! It'll be very interesting to see if choreographing and directing can be done long-distance. ^_^
In closing... pictures of KCIS Newsies! Was browsing through my pictures today and was reminiscing while looking at our Newsies pictures. ^_^ Brings back old
memories, huh? I like the picture on the left: "Director Priscilla points with her finger of doom!" lol!

North Shore!!!
After a relaxing morning of just doing some computer and preparing for a day out, we headed out for the North Shore. I volunteered to drive over there for practice; and boy, what a 'practice' it turned out to be! Naomi was watching over my driving so much that we totally missed the exit. So I had to get off the freeway then do lots of turns and U-turns to get back on the right track. Missed another exit but after an hour of driving, we finally made it safe and sound!
We picked up sandwiches from a popular cafe called Kua'aina then headed for Waimea Falls. Before starting on the trek, we ate our lunch at an outdoor picnic area. There's a little store called The Proud Peacock, so there were several peacocks and other assorted birds just walking, or strutting about. Maki fed a little piece of bread to a little
bird and the next thing you know, this peacock hops up onto the table and starts reaching for Maki and Erin's sandwiches!! Seriously, these birds were totally unafraid. They were circling us, waiting for us to drop something. Kind of annoying since these peacocks aren't exactly 'small'. :P
After our interesting lunch, we started on our walk to Waimea Falls. It's a very beautiful park and there are areas which include some old Hawaiian huts. On the left is a picture of the 'women's eating hut'. See that small opening? Hmph!
We got to the waterfall and there were
several people swimming about and some were even sitting under the falls. Deciding not to go into the water, we just sat for a little while just enjoying the scenery and the cool breeze. Walking back we took a bit of a different route which got off the concrete path. It was very peaceful and since it was in the shade, I enjoyed that route. I was tempted to do a 'Tarzan stunt' what with all the vines hanging off the trees. Of course, if I were to do a 'Tarzan stunt', it would more likely be a 'George, George, George of the jungle, watch out for that tree!!'. lol!
After the nice walk, we next drove over to a beautiful beach. It was the
first time we had gone to this particular area and it was so nice because hardly any people were there. We found a nice shady spot and while Naomi rested, Erin, Maki, and I went swimming for a bit. It was a little windy so we got some nice waves. I love riding waves so we spent the whole time doing just that. We got out after a while and just relaxed in the sun. I got a really nice tan; thankfully no sunburn. :P We all made sure to put a lot of suntan lotion on. Better to be safe than sorry, right?
Before heading for home, we stopped by a store called Matsumoto's where it's famous for their shaved ice. I got a shaved ice with the flavors lemon, lime, and cherry. Yummm! Naomi and Erin got very Hawaiian flavors while Maki had raspberry, liche, and pineapple. There was such a long line so while waiting, we looked around the store. I bought a very nice Hawaiian necklace. There were also pictures of celebrities who had visited the store hung around the store; there were pictures of Adam Sandler and Tom Hanks!
After eating our shaved ice, Naomi drove us back home, arriving just after 6:00. Whew, hadn't realized how long we had been out! All of us took showers then immediately got ready to go to the Friday Night Service at Kaimuki Church. Only Erin was going to go for babysitting but after Naomi said she had to go meet with someone, Maki and I decided to tag along. Tony was back from his vacation so it was nice to have him lead the worship again! Pastor Ron talked about his Africa trip a bit more in depth and showed a collection of pictures and even some video clips he took on his travels.
As soon as the service ended, I chatted with Tony, Don, and Ericson for a bit. Shouko, from my drum class with Joe, came up forward and was playing the drums. I stayed with her, teaching her some basics and I got to play a bit, too. Henry came forward (he's Jay's son) since he also likes to play the drums. He usually practices drums after the Friday night service. So the three of us were
talking about playing the drums and talking about some techniques. Lots of fun! ^_^
Tonight we four girls decided to just pick up some dinner and go home. Stopped by Taco Bell and I got a taco salad. Not quite as good as L.A.S.T.'s taco salad but it's still delicious! While eating we watched Sneakers, a very good movie, one of my favorites. Such an all-star cast: Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, Dan Aykroyd, River Phoenix, David Strathairn, Ben Kingsley, and Mary McDonnell.
Well, it's getting late and I'm off to bed! Had such a fun day! Ahh, come to think of it, only a few more days till school starts... :S oh, well! Kinda excited! lol! To close my blog... let's see... how about some quotes from Sneakers? (in case you just might wonder, the
character of 'Mother' is Dan Aykroyd's alias in the movie):
Martin Bishop: Organized crime?
Cosmo: Hah. Don't kid yourself. It's not that organized.
Mother: We got bubkes! We turn ourselves in now, they'll give us twenty years in the electric chair!

Donald Crease: Now what are you saying, the C.I.A. caused the Managua earthquake?
Mother: Well, I can't prove it, but...
Whistler: Very good, Bish. Remind me to make you an honorary blind person.
Crease: Now what are you saying, the NSA killed Kennedy?
Mother: No, they shot him but they didn't kill him... he's still alive!

Walked to Campus, Had a Tap Class, and Watched Movies (of course...)
Didn't sleep too well during the middle of the night so slept in till just
around 9:00. Naomi and Erin had already left so it was just Maki and I, doing some computer. After breakfast and writing some e-mails, Naomi came home for lunch. Made ham sandwiches all around and while eating, Maki and I watched an episode of Star Trek: Next Generation since Maki was taping for Takuma (couldn't watch other channels). Anyway, interesting episode called The Game. Very freaky and kinda corny, too. :P
Right after finishing the episode, Maki and I decided to try walking to campus. First walked to the lower campus which was about a 25 minute walk then after walking up to the upper campus, walked back home in a little more than 20 minutes. Altogether, a very pleasant walk and we both enjoyed it. I think I just might like walking to school, though riding a bicycle is also an option.

Got home and both of us were pretty hot from the walk so we decided to watch a movie in our room where our nice air conditioner was one, keeping the room nice and cold. ^_^ We watched a Disney movie called Watcher in the Woods which I had borrowed from Blockbusters last night. It stars a VERY old Bette Davis, Caroll Baker, Lynn-Holly Johnson, and even David McCallum! Very creepy story; part horror, part supernatural. I thought that compared to nowadays horror, the 'scary' parts were extremely well-done with good photography and effects. However, it's too bad that the ending is a little weak. Otherwise, I bet this would have been a popular movie; it was a bit of a dud back then, though a cult classic now.

After the movie, I went to watch my daily dose of Law & Order. A depressing episode though; the murderer gets away! Gah, the legal system... sometimes it protects the innocent, sometimes it protects even the criminals. OH! I forgot to mention yesterday! One of the episodes of Law & Order I watched yesterday had special guest star.... David McCallum! Interesting coincidence, considering how much I like him as Illya Kuryakin in The Man from UNCLE, huh? (of course, David McCallum wasn't that young in the L&O episode, but I like this picture on the right. ^_^)
Naomi took me for my tap class at 5:30. The Intermediate class actually starts from 5:15 but I was told to come a bit
late so that I can stay after for the whole Advanced class. Today's class was much more fun than last week's; got to actually do a lot more combinations. Also, since I got to stay for the whole Advanced class, we did a very long combination which was lots of fun. It's a good thing that I have a good memory because they were doing combinations from last week which the teacher, Caryn, hadn't specifically told us to memorize or anything. ^_^ Whew! A cool thing the teacher did was teach a specific rhythm, giving each a title from the letter from the alphabet. For example, she says 'A', and we do the combination for 'A', then she says 'C', and so on and so forth. It's pretty difficult especially when you have to do it fast.
Got home and after a nice dinner, we had our weekly prayer meeting. After having a bit of a quiet time between ourselves, we watched a movie altogether to relax and have fun.
Tomorrow we've got a fun day planned for a day at the North Shore. Please be praying that we have a safe trip since I'll be driving. ^_^ In closing, since I've been watching some of David McCallum on tv and in movies, here are some of my favorite quotes from The Man from UNCLE show (if you don't know, David McCallum's character is Illya Kuraykin, Robert Vaughn's character is Napoleon Solo):
Illya Kuryakin: It's a handicap isn't it? Being so obviously American?
Napoleon Solo: Illya, we have a situation here that needs your special talents. Are you free?
Illya Kuryakin: No man is free who works for a living. But, I'm available.
Illya Kuryakin: (Speaking of the badguy he pushed off the balcony) You had another visitor drop in. He dropped out, I have to go see to him.
Illya Kuryakin: Well, we could make one of our daring, resourceful and nauseatingly punctual escapes. If only the door weren't locked.
Napoleon Solo: How's your headache?
Illya Kuryakin: Nicely throbbing thank you.

Can't Think of a Title...
(today there aren't any pictures to put up so I've sprinkled the blog with pictures of Bianca and Sophie. You can tell I'm missing my dogs... ^_^ Enjoy!)
Got out of bed just after 8:00 and after doing all the morning stuff, I spent most of the morning in a comfortable pile of pillows reading my Law & Order book. Read about half way and it was getting VERy interesting.
However, I only got half way then Naomi, Maki, and I went out to do
some errands just before lunch. First we stopped by the campus to clear up some holds on Maki's registration. That was cleared up very quickly and we headed over to Kahala Mall next. At Long's Drugstore I got some cold medicine for my sore throat as well as some blank VHS tapes for Maki and me. ^_^ Both of us are planning to tape some shows.
For lunch we ate at Kimuraya's Bakery where it's both a restaurant and a bakery. Maki had fish loco moco, Naomi had some sort of miso-yaki salmon, and I had a mushroom spaghetti. My spaghetti was huge and I could hardly eat half; there were soooo many mushrooms! Afterwards we bought some breads from the bakery for tomorrow's breakfast. Yum!
Picked up some groceries at Starmarket
then went back home. Finished my book. It was pretty interesting and it ended quite unexpectedly. I hadn't seen that ending coming at all. A fun read; it adds a little more depth to the characters which is different from the tv show which hardly adds any character details. Unfortunately, some 'aspects' of the plot and crime I didn't like... hmmm...
Did some computer and read L&O fanficion until 4:00 when I went to the living room to watch L&O. So relieved that all the bad guys went
to jail. ^_^ Erin came home a little before 6:00 (she had been working all day). Naomi (with help from the others and me) made dinner of tonkatsu and yasaii-itame. It was nice to eat Japanese home-cooked food with rice!
After dinner, Maki, Erin, and I finished watching Pride and Prejudice. Sigh... it's such a good movie! I especially like the last half of the movie because the character of Mr. Darcy changes so much from the beginning half. He even smiles in the latter half of the movie! :P lol!

Naomi had gone out to take Nick, Heather, Malia, and Bella to the airport (they're going to visit the kids' grandparents in Arizona). When she came back, I went with her to the video rental store to return a DVD. Looked around a bit and decided to borrow one movie.
Got home, and here I am, writing my blog while eating mint ice-cream (mmmmmm...)! ^_^ To finish off this blog, I've come to realize that a lot of the most interesting quotes from the tv series Law & Order are said by the judges. Here are some of my favorites, which are yours?:
"You couldn't please this court if you danced an Irish jig on your fingertips!"
"Maybe I'm overly noble, counselors, but I'm not up to rewriting the Bill of Rights this week."
"Thank you for wasting the court's time."
"The few, the proud, the indicted."
"Consistency is the hobgoblin of little courtrooms."
