Just Gotta Love Tuesday!
Got up and left the house by 8:30 to drive Erin downtown to her work place. As soon as I got home, I checked and looked over my Siddhartha essay just a few extra more times before finally printing it out. :P Also studied for the book quiz we would have in History class today.
Went to the campus for History class; handed in our papers and it was funny because Mr. Cassity commented that he received thirty Epic of Gilgamesh reports but for the Siddhartha report, he only got seventten this morning. :P Took the book quiz which was pretty easy then Mr. Cassity gave a brief talk about how college students should work hard because what they do now determines their future. It was funny how he talked about McDonald's 'de-skilling' workers ("You know that they have color pictures on the registers?" lol) and about 'Red' Adair. The story of 'Red' Adair is really cool, a real-life man whose job for a living was putting out oil fires.
After his talk which wasn't boring in the least, we finally got into 'real' history and began learning about the Byzantium Empire. For the last part of the class we watched a short video about Hagia Sophia, The Church of the Divine Wisdom, later renamed Aia Sophie, Pride of the Sultans, when the Muslims took over Constantinople and turned the church into a mosque. :P Now it's a museum, back to being called Hagia Sophia. It's quite an impressive building, the dome said to seem like it was 'hanging from a chain down from the heavens'. I thought it was funny that Justinian upon going inside the completed dome said, "Solomon, I have outdone thee." :P
Dropped Maki off at home then went to pick Erin up. Got home and had a quick lunch before heading back to campus. Ami (ASL teacher) is still sick so Crissy was once again our subsitute teacher. We did some more review as well as went over Unit 5 in our books, learned how to 'sign' some elementary math, and played a few games. Finished a bit early so when I got home, I was able to do my math homework.
Maki made cabbage soup for dinner and I 'baked' frozen pizza. *wink!* Interesting dinner, I know, but it was all very delicious. Afterwards, we had our weekly prayer meeting. We read from Psalm 7 and were able to relate to quite a lot from what was written. We actually got to talk for quite a while tonight. ^_^
From 8:00 I watched the new episode of House, M.D. which plays ever Tuesday. It's so cool; Gregory House finally bought his dream motorcycle! It's soooo cool. Lots of new subplot developments which is makin the series exciting...
Off to bed now... Yay, I get to sleep in late tomorrow! *wink!*
