Hurray hurray! What a Nice Day (and It's the Last School Day of the Week, too!) ^_^
Last school day for this week (tomorrow's Veteran's Day)!! Had history class in the morning; made sure to finish my paper on the Justinian Law Code before class. :P Today Mr. Cassity started off by going 'a bit off topic' (he usually does during the first part of class) and talked about analyzing movies. It started off by him giving back our Siddhartha book quizzes (I got 10 out of 10) and talked about analyzing books. Somehow got to analyzing movies. :P Mostly about Forrest Gump which he completely dislikes, which I kind of expected since he's a historian. One of the things he didn't like about that movie was because even though the movie is supposed to be about Forrest Gump going through life during such important historic events, there were several historic events the movie SHOULD have included but didn't (like the assassination of Martin Luther King). I thought that it was interesting, but probably didn't mind the talk because I, too, don't like the movie Forrest Gump though Tom Hanks is a great actor. :P I apologize to anyone who does...
Aaaanyway, we finished up learning about the Byzantium Empire then starting learning about the Islamic world. Funny because a lot of people didn't know the difference between 'Islam' and 'Muslim'. lol! There was a lot of discussion at the end of class about Muslims and the Islamic faith which was really interesting.
Went home and had leftover for lunch, watched a Hogan's Heroes episode. Finished disc 5! On the last disc now... *sniff sniff* I have to get Season II...
Ami is still a little sick but it was really nice because she was able to teach us ASL today! It was nice having her back; we did some reviewing of previous signs then played a the 'Rumour' game, except by using signs instead of whispering words. It was so funny how the sentences turned out when it got to the last person!
For next week's class on Thursday, Ami told us that we're all going to go eat at a restaurant! Except it's still part of class, kind of like an experiment: we're going to the restaurant but we can't speak/use our voice at all! Among each other, and even other people! Ami wants us to know what it feels for a deaf person to try to communicate with someone who hears. We voted on where we want to eat and most of voted on Chili's. Yay! (I was one of the voters for Chili's). So I'm looking forward to next week!
Got home and did some various things; surfing the net, writing my fanfic, then started on this new craftwork that my mother sent me from Japan. Such a cute craft; I'll send a pic when I'm done.
Went to Long's Drugstore with Naomi and while she was getting some pictures developed, I picked up some Sweet Tarts; the chewy kinds and the sour kinds. Yum, I love 'em!
Naomi and Erin had their prayer meeting tonight and because somehow the lasagna wasn't put into the oven in time... (:P), we couldn't eat till around 8:20! Sooo hungry... Watched two Hogan's Heroes while eating dinner in my room and I think I can honestly say that one of the ones I watched is one of the BEST episodes in the whole first season. Simply hilarious! Gotta love Newkirk and Lebeau.
Off to bed now! Tomorrow's Veteran's Day but I've got a busy day; I'm babysitting in the morning, going to Grandpa's cemetery, then going to the Deaf Event at Starbucks. Till tomorrow!
