One-Class-Day

Days with only one class are really nice... ^_^ Since I had agreed to help Nichelle with her Japanese homework a bit, I went to school at the same time with Erin and Maki, getting to school around 8:00. Until 8:45 I was able to relax at one of the benches in one of the more 'secluded' areas on campus and read Sense and Sensibility. Was almost done but couldn't quite finish it by the time I went down to the cafeteria to meet Nichelle.

After helping her out a bit (easy stuff), we went to our History class. On the way met a few of our former classmates and got to talk about 'old times'. :P Just kidding, though we did get to chat with them a bit.

Today's History class focused on the different explorers and the rise of Spain and Portugal. Also started getting our reading assignments as well as the study guide for a map quiz which will be coming up in a few weeks.

Walked around a bit with Nichelle after class before she went for her Japanese class. It was nice because we met up with Rachel from last semester and we got to 'talk story' for a while. Rachel is definitely one of the nicest friends I've made while at college; we're meeting up tomorrow between classes so I can give her some 'omiyage' from Japan. ^_^

Said good-bye to Nichelle then went home. Finished reading Sense and Sensibility (hurray!) then went to pick Naomi and Maki up from class. Came home and ate lunch while watching an episode of Hogan's Heroes.

Got started on the book I have to read for History 152 class, The 47 Ronin Story. As you may guess, it's a story of Japan. :P It's a story dramatizing the true events that took place in Japan at the beginning of the 18th century when the Shogun leaders were corrupted and the merchant class began to rise in power. So far, after only reading a chapter or so, I already think I'm going to really enjoy this book.

Around 2:40, Naomi and I went downtown to go meet up with Tiffany to look at her friend's desk at work which Naomi might want to buy. Unfortunately, Tiffany was on the phone with a client so Naomi and I had to wait outside in the car for about 45 minutes! Fortunately, we didn't kill each other (lol!) and had a lot of fun talking and laughing. We finally did get to see the desk though Naomi still hasn't decided whether she wants to buy it or not.

Picked Erin up and got home. I watched Les Girls which I had borrowed from Netflix. It's the last movie Gene Kelly ever played in (last movie however, it's still an 'old' movie :P). It was actually a very interesting story with an interesting twist. It's a bit complicated to explain but basically, we are told about events by two different people at a trial and the stories are completely different. However, a third surprise witness tells the story, adding in some facts that no one had known about and puts a new light on the whole 'event'. Quite interesting, though some parts didn't quite 'click'.

Studied a bit then Erin made delicious spaghetti for dinner. VERY delicious! I watched another short film then got to surf the internet a bit. Tomorrow is another three-class-day; looking forward to Theater class!
