My First Real Autograph! And From None Other Than...!

This morning I had been planning to walk to school since Naomi was using the car, but much to my great luck, Nichelle called just as I was leaving the house and told me that she was on the way to school and could pick me up! Oh, I have such a great friend... ^_^ So we went to campus together and since there was about forty minutes until our classes started (we had classes in the same building though I was having History and she was having speech), we were able to talk and have some fun. Quite by accident, Maki was just in front of the cafeteria as we were walking past so we were able to talk together for a little while.

From 9:15 to 10:30 I had my History 282 class. We began with all of us having to say our names and say what our favorite foods were. :P It seems that Mr. Cassity also sometimes plays the 'name game'... Eep! How am I supposed to remember 26 names?! I'll have to pay extra attention to try to get everyone's names... Talked about the Reconstruction period after the Civil War which though I knew a lot of the material we covered, there were some interesting facts I learned. I have homework due for next week where I have to write a 1-2 page paper about myself and about politics in America. It's one of the seven informal papers for the class where though Mr. Cassity checks and marks the paper, it's not graded at all. ^_^ So that's nice so there's no real 'pressure' to make an 'exceptional' paper. lol!

Right after class, I went to Theatre 221 class next. And boy, I must say, that was a FUN class! First off, we started off with a few exercises and the teacher talked gave a little tour around the building, into the dressing rooms and the prop rooms. Pretty cool I must say. Then we did some acting... ^_^ She made us all imagine that we were at a high school basketball game between the juniors and seniors. She picked out some people to be on opposing teams, one referee, then the rest of the students were spectators. And it was really, REALLY fun! Everyone was soooo into the moment and feel of the 'scene' and I could tell that everyone was immersed into what we were doing. After a little while, Mrs. Perez next told us to continue with the scene, except in slow motion. :P That was really funny, seeing the 'players' move in slow motion, and us spectators yelling insults and encouragement very slowly. Next Mrs. Perez took away the basketball and had us continue in slow motion without the ball.

She changed parts after a while and I got to be one of the players on the junior team. The 'referee' played a really MEAN and unfair referee and you won't believe just how immersed everyone got! The 'referee' picked on my team (junior team) and even kicked two of my team members out so that it was 5 to 3! It got even 'funnier' when she suspended the whole team... lol! I must say, it was TONS of fun and if the classes continue to be like this, Theatre 221 will definitely be one of my favorite classes.

Naomi picked Maki and I up and ate lunch at home. Relaxed in the early afternoon and chatted with my dad... and guess what?! He went to an Alan Parsons' concert last night! The first part the AP band played backup for Denny Laine who was formerly with Paul McCartney's band Wings. Then afterwards Alan Parsons himself came out and he and the band played some pretty awesome music. Grrr! I so wish I could be there!

Ok, but here's the REALLY cool part... my father asked around if he could somehow meet Alan Parsons but everyone told him that it would be difficult. Then Daddy asked if he could get an autograph so the owner came out and asked if my father had brought something that Alan Parsons could sign. As it would so happen (:P), my father had brought A Valid Path cd and an old Pink Floyd cd which Alan Parsons had worked on before starting the APProjects. My dad sent the cds along with his namecard with a message written on the back. After the concert, the owner brought back the cds... and while the Pink Floyd album had "To Randy, Alan Parsons" on it, the A Valid Path cd had "To Priscilla, Best, Alan Parsons 2006"!! A personalized Alan Parsons autograph to me!!!! AHHHHH! Ok, fangirl moment, I know (I think I've screamed/yelled at least a couple of times today). lol! But it's really amazing being able to get an autograph from Alan Parsons; I've looked all over but it's hard to get in touch with him at all. So it's quite an honor to have him autograph something for me.

John Montagna, the bass player for APLive (really, REALLY good bass player and singer), has his own blog site up so my dad's written him and I'm thinking of writing to him, to perhaps ask him if he could send along my thanks to Alan Parsons. ^_^ We'll see how it goes!

Maki and I left for our Geography class a little before 3:00. It was a pretty interesting class though Ms. Mclees isn't an 'exceptional' teacher compared to like Mr. Cassity or Mrs. Perez. She needs more practice. :P Class finished twenty minutes early so Maki and I went by Long's Drugstore so I could get a notebook for class.

Went home and the two of washed the car which was in much need of a 'bath'. :P I worked on putting all my pictures up on my blog and putting last semester's papers, tests, quizzes, etc. neatly away. For dinner, Naomi made chicken cream stew. ^_^

Chatted with my parents a little then watched an episode of Firefly with Naomi. I'm really, REALLY liking Simon Tam (Sean Maher) now. Such an 'interesting' character. Such a 'smart, dumb person' as Will Smith from I, Robot would say. ^_^

Off to bed now. Friday is a long day considering I have two class which are both 2 hours and 45 minutes long. :S Not looking forward to them... *groan* Good night!
