Fun Day!
It was so nice being able to sleep in today. :P Unlike last semester where I could basically sleep in until amost 9:30, Monday through Friday I have to be up by 8:15 or so. :P So Saturdays are nice to sleep in as late as I want... ^_^ That is, until the next door neighbor's dog starts doing his 'annoying, reptitive bark'. *rolls eyes* Sooooo annoying...
Erin, Maki and I went to Dole Theaters to catch a movie and got home around 2:40 or so. Worked some more on my homework (just needs a few finishing touches) and decided not to get started on my Japanese homework... I'll probably start on Monday (which is a holiday). Hurray! I also got to catch up on a little reading (still reading Sense and Sensibility). I'm just a little over halfway done now.At 5:30, the four of us left the house to go to Joe and Mercy's house to celebrate Kyla and a neighbors birthday. Besides the Littlefield family, Nick, Heather, Malia, and Bella also came as well as the neighbor's family and Joe's friend. Joe and his family live at
the top of this really, really, REALLY steep hill (we didn't even try driving up for fear our car wouldn't make it :P). Here's pictures of the view and how steep it looks from just 2/3 up to the house.
Had a really great time and the dinner was great! Fried chicken, rice, spring rolls, salad, yakisoba, hamburgers, and mashed potatoes. You can tell how 'Hawaiian' it
is with the assorted types of foods. ^_^ The four kids, Kyla, Nika, Malia, and Bella, kept everything very lively with their funny antics. Christi and Brandon stopped by (they live downstairs in Joe's house) before the two of them were going out to dinner. Here's a very nice picture of them 'dressed up'.
When it was time to open the gifts, though it was Kyla's birthday (she's two years old now), Nika was very helpful and was the one mostly opening the presents. lol! It was funny when Joe was asking whose gifts they were and Nika replied that they were all hers. :P Malia and Bella also joined in the gift opening so it
was highly entertaining watching them share-oh-so-nicely (do you detect the slight sarcasm there?). ^_^ Just kidding, they were pretty good at sharing. Bella got to 'have' one of the gift decorations... look how sad she looks wearing it... lol!
It was then time to get the cake out. It was hilarious because Kyla kept blowing out the candles at the wrong time so Mercy had to keep relighting the candles! lol! The cakes were good, the neighbor's one a chocolate ice-cream cake and Kyla's having assorted candies on it.
After a little while, everyone left so it was only the 'Yokohama girls' left at the house. I gave my presents to Kyla and Nikka then and they absolutely loved them! The gifts were Japanese plastic fans which light up in the dark in different colors! For about an hour we all had a great time watching the two girls play
and Joe joining in a little later. I haven't laughed so hard, so long for quite a while and I think I have a little stomache-ache from laughing so much!
Back home now, doing last minute things before going to bed. I got to video chat with my parents with was fun; the dogs were so cute and doing silly stuff. Sooo cute! Sophie kept pawing Daddy to make room for her on his lap. Soooo demanding... *wink!* As for Bianca, she just keeps going on and off the camera, coming and going, getting her toy, having my parents throw it for her, etc. Busy puppy.
Good night, sleep tight!
