~The Mystery of Edwin Droooooooooooood~

Ahhh... it's Spring Break! Such a wonderful feeling to be able to sleep in without worry of having to go to class or print our your homework... Ahem, well, kinda. :P I actually did have one homework that I needed to have done and sent by e-mail by 6 pm today. Japanese homework, a one page reflection paper on my Samurai presentation at the International Festival. However, it wasn't big deal as I slept in real late and was still able to finish writing it up in less than an hour.

For lunch I decided to make fried rice. Had to go to Times Supermarket to pick up some groceries then made a very good (if I may say so) lunch. ^_^ After lunch, I watched some tv then I concentrated on writing my fanfiction. It's real slow going since I'm at kind of a 'boring' part... :P My readers are getting restless though; I've recently received a few threatening e-mails telling me I had better update soon or else. lol! I'm trying!

Erin made dinner which was chicken in tomato sauce. Then upon a sudden decision made this morning, the three of us decided to attend the opening night of The Mystery of Edwin Drood at the Diamond Head Theater. It's a Tony Award winning play from 1985 and the reason for its popularity is that it's a 'Solve-It-Yourself-Mystery'!! Yes, that's what I saw! 'Solve-it-Yourself-Mystery'! Except it's more like 'the-Audience-Will-Solve-It-Together-Mystery'. :P

The show started from 8:00 so we went there early to be able to relax a bit before the show. It was also raining like crazy when we got there. :P I wish the weather would just give us all a break! Anyway, it was my first time to be 'in the theater' though I've been backstage in the rehearsal hall for classes I had taken there last semester.

Very nice theater, medium sized but in my opinion just right. I won't go too much into detail but I must say I really, REALLY enjoyed the play! The singing was fantastic; some singers were 'so-so' but a few were exceptional. I especially liked one of the main characters who had studied opera. No wonder he was good. :P

Anyway, so at the end, the audience had to vote on three things. 1) Who is the mysterious 'detective in disguise', 2) who is the murderer, and 3) who ends up happily ever after. ^_^ It was loads of fun to vote and in the end, the person I voted for ended up the murderer. Hilarious to the end, everyone's comic timing was perfect. It was fun hissing and booing the bad guy (who was my favorite character in the play). :P All-in-all, an INCREDIBLY enjoyable evening 'out to the theater'. ^_^

The show altogether was almost 3 hours long so got home at around 11:00. Tomorrow's Saturday, probably will go to Costco for some shopping; otherwise, no other plans are made. Isn't it nice to be lazy? lol!

Also, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NAOMI! Today's her birthday (over in Japan) so she is now 22-years-old! ^_^
