A Relaxing Sunday

This morning since Naomi had a sign dance for the 10:30 service at Kaimuki Church, we held our own services at 8:30. Erin lead today, leading worship while also playing the keyboard. She then gave a sermon on 'Because He Loves Us, We Love Others' (or 'What is God's Freedom'). We opened from Galaaions 5 and I Corinthians 12. I liked verse 14 from Corinthians: 'The entire law is summed up in a signle command: "Love your neighbor as yourself"'. It doesn't get any more simple than that, does it?

We then left for the 10:30 service, though we got there a little before 10:00 because Naomi needed to get ready for the sign dance. It was nice though because the three of us were able to mingle and fellowship with the people who had come out from the 8:30 service.

I had heard the sermon already on Friday but it's always nice to listen again and catch the things I might have missed. Naomi's sign dance went well (sorry, you can't really see Naomi in the pictures because I couldn't get a clear view of her from my angle). After the service we went home after receiving beautiful long stem roses from Dee (Pastor Ron's wife). One was yellow and the other two were white; very beautiful and we were sure to put them in a vase as soon as we got home.

For lunch we ate leftovers at home. I relaxed in the living room, watching some Fosse dance numbers then watched Company Business, starring Gene Hackman and Mikhail Baryshnikov. It was overall a very mediocre film; there was one really exciting part that I liked but otherwise it moved at a very slow pace. I like Mikhail Baryshnikov's accent though! ~_*

After that I went to my room and though I tried to work a little bit on my English assignment, I decided to lie down a bit because I was a little tired. The little 'lie-down' turned into an hour nap. :P I always took a nap on Sunday afternoons back in Japan; I guess old habits die hard. ^_^

I was able to figure out the introduction and closing for my English essay so I'm glad that's done. Now all I have to do is worry about the body. Perhaps I'll get it down my tomorrow (it's due on Wednesday).

For dinner, Erin made delicious hayashi-rice. It was thinner than usual hayashi rice but I actually prefer it that way so I really liked it a lot. Like I said, I basically like anything which you can eat with rice.

I decided to relax and start on a short fanfiction based on L&O. When I focus a lot on something, I tend to lose interest so I always find it best to write something else before getting back to what I was originally on. Don't worry, the essay shall be done on time, and Boromir, Thou Shall Live has not been abandoned. ^_^

Watched some tv with Naomi then when I got back to my room, I started chatting with Maria a bit. Before I knew it, I was pulled into a chat with Justin, Maria, Elly, Maki, Takuma, and (Erin)! :S Very confusing, very crazy, very strange... :P But I know you can't be too surprised considering the people involved in that conversation. ^_^

Today is Michael Keaton's 54th birthday! Some favorite quotes from his movies to close; tomorrow is Labor Day so no school, hurray!!

Bruce Wayne: It's Japanese.
Knox: How do you know that?
Bruce Wayne: Because I bought it in Japan.

Dogberry: Why, you speak like an ancient and most quiet watchman, for I cannot see how sleeping should offend.

Betelgeuse: Ah, what do we have here? The Maitlands. Cute couple. Look nice and stupid.
